OUR STANCE ON THE NEW POLICE SERVICE COMMISSION BILL

“The Nigeria Police Regulatory body should be Civilian-led” – Nelson Olanipekun, Team Lead, Citizens’ Gavel; at the public hearing on the Police Service Commission Bill organized by the House of Representatives Committee on Police Affairs.

On the 25th of March, 2021, the House of Representatives Committee on Police Affairs held a public hearing on the Police Service Commission Bill, at the hearing our team lead, Nelson Olanipekun highlighted   the never-ending issue of disobedience of Court Order with regards to Victims of police brutality-related compensation.

He further stressed the need for the new bill to be used as a key instrument to restore public confidence in the Nigeria Police Force.
